AG Pushes for Death Row Inmate's Execution

The state attorney general wants a death row inmate executed in July.

Attorney General Jim Hood filed a motion with the state supreme court requesting Dale Leo Bishop be executed on or before July 23rd.

The U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal from Bishop who was contesting his 2000 capital murder and kidnapping convictions claiming ineffectual counsel and the trial judge's failure to move the trial because of publicity.

Bishop was convicted and sentenced to death for the kidnapping and slaying of 19 year old Marcus Gentry of Fulton.
